My 13-year-old has been a Swiftie since she was 8. We’ve driven to school listening to every album, argued about which era is best (she says Folklore, I say 1989), and yes, we saw the Eras Tour movie twice. So when she showed me this LEGO version of the Eras Tour that hit 10,000 votes on LEGO Ideas, I had to write about it.

The set is now officially in LEGO’s review process. That means their team is actually evaluating whether to turn this fan creation into a real set. It has 2,974 pieces, four lighting rigs, and detachable minifigures for each of Taylor’s ten musical eras. Part poster, part concert stage, part collectible display.

A LEGO Journey Through Taylor Swift’s Eras

At first glance, it looks like a LEGO poster. But each piece of that flat design comes off to reveal a tiny LEGO Taylor Swift, one for each of her ten musical eras. It’s her entire career in miniature form.

My daughter would lose her mind over this. We’ve heard “Anti-Hero” approximately 4,000 times in this house. The idea that you could build something that represents all of those albums, with actual details from each one, is the kind of thing that ends up on a shelf for years. This isn’t a toy you play with once. It’s a display piece for someone who really cares about the music.

Meet the Creative Team: Minibrick Productions

Minibrick Productions designed this set. They’re known for capturing famous moments and turning them into LEGO builds. Taylor Swift’s style spans country, pop, indie-folk, and everything in between, so this wasn’t a simple project. The attention to detail is impressive.

What Makes This Taylor Swift LEGO Set Special

Each minifigure has the outfits and accessories Taylor wore during different eras. The teal dress from her debut album. The casual “Red” look. Black outfit with a snake for “Reputation.” The bodysuit for “Lover.” The bejeweled suit for “Midnights.” If your kid (or you) can name all the eras, they’ll appreciate how much work went into getting these details right.

The set goes beyond outfits. It includes:

  • Detachable Rep snake from the Reputation album
  • Lover House screen effects
  • Diamond stage with raisable platforms
  • Evermore trees rising from the stage
  • “Look What You Made Me Do” glass boxes (which double as storage for minifigures)
  • Main screen with three swinging doors and sliding floor plates
  • Folklore house that emerges from the stage
  • Bad Blood fire effects
  • Surprise song piano
  • Karma fireworks
  • Storage for guitars, mics, and props

That’s a lot of moving parts. My son builds LEGO sets constantly, and even he was impressed by how much functionality they packed in here.

Could LEGO Make an Official Taylor Swift Set?

The set hit 10,000 votes on LEGO Ideas and is now in LEGO’s official review process. Designers, product managers, and other team members will evaluate whether this can become a real product.

Here’s what gives Swifties hope: LEGO has approved music sets before. The BTS Dynamite set came through the Ideas program in 2023 and became an official product at $99.99. It has 749 pieces, seven minifigures of the band members, and a stage with a dancing function. If LEGO will make a K-pop set, a Taylor Swift set isn’t out of the question.

LEGO also has a partnership with Universal Music (Taylor’s label), which could help with licensing. But multiple Taylor Swift projects have reached 10,000 votes before, and none have been approved yet. The Lover House alone has had at least four different versions hit the voting threshold. Something is holding it back, likely licensing negotiations or costs.

The review takes several months. LEGO builds concept models, checks product standards, and figures out licensing (since this involves Taylor Swift’s likeness). Reaching the review stage is already an achievement. Most Ideas submissions never get this far.

Unofficial Taylor Swift Block Sets

If you can’t wait for LEGO to make a decision, there are unofficial options. Fair warning: these aren’t LEGO quality, and they’re not officially licensed by Taylor Swift either.

Lover House Building Block Set

The most popular alternative is a Lover House block set that recreates the colorful house from Taylor’s “Lover” music video. It has about 1,426 pieces and lights up, which is a nice touch.

The set runs $60-95 depending on where you buy it (Amazon, Walmart, Temu). Nine rooms represent nine of her albums, and there are fun details like a tiny cat hanging from the ceiling and clothes on hangers.

The catch? Build quality is mixed. The pieces don’t snap together as satisfyingly as real LEGO bricks. Instructions can be confusing. Some pieces have rough edges. It’s a fun project if you set expectations appropriately, but it’s not the same experience as building an official LEGO set.

For my daughter, who just wants something Taylor-related to build, it might be worth it. For someone who cares about the building experience itself, probably not.

Other LEGO Sets for Music and Pop Culture Fans

If you’re into LEGO and pop culture, here are some official sets worth checking out while you wait:

  • LEGO BTS Dynamite (21339) proves LEGO will make music sets. Seven minifigures, a stage that makes them dance, and solid build quality. If this did well, it strengthens the case for a Taylor Swift set.
  • LEGO Art: The Beatles (31198) is a 2,933-piece mosaic that creates one of four Beatles portraits. Different vibe than a minifigure set, but another example of LEGO doing music artists.
  • Harry Potter LEGO sets keep getting better. The newest modular Hogwarts system lets you build sections and connect them. My son spent an entire weekend on the Diagon Alley set. Worth every hour.
  • For sci-fi fans, keep an eye on what’s coming. There’s always Star Wars LEGO, but upcoming adaptations might bring new sets too.

Is there an official Taylor Swift LEGO set?

Not yet. A fan-designed Taylor Swift Eras Tour set reached 10,000 votes on LEGO Ideas and is currently in LEGO’s official review process. If approved, it could become an official set, but there’s no confirmed release date. Multiple Taylor Swift projects have reached the review stage before without being approved.

How many pieces are in the Taylor Swift Eras Tour LEGO set?

The fan design has 2,974 pieces plus four lighting rigs. It includes ten detachable minifigures representing each of Taylor Swift’s musical eras.

Who made the LEGO Taylor Swift Eras Tour design?

Minibrick Productions created the design and submitted it to LEGO Ideas. They’re known for detailed LEGO builds of famous moments and celebrities.

How long does the LEGO Ideas review process take?

Several months. LEGO evaluates the design, builds concept models, and considers licensing requirements before deciding whether to produce it.

Has LEGO made other music-themed sets?

Yes. The BTS Dynamite set came through LEGO Ideas and became an official product in 2023. LEGO has also made sets for The Beatles, including the Yellow Submarine and an Art series portrait set. This shows LEGO is willing to license music artists.

Can I still vote for the Taylor Swift LEGO set?

No. The set already reached 10,000 votes and is in LEGO’s review phase. Voting is closed, but you can follow updates on the LEGO Ideas project page.

Can I buy an unofficial Taylor Swift building block set?

Yes. There are unofficial Lover House block sets available on Amazon, Walmart, and other retailers for $60-95. These have about 1,400 pieces and light up. However, they’re not LEGO brand and build quality is inconsistent. They’re also not officially licensed by Taylor Swift.

Why hasn’t LEGO made a Taylor Swift set yet?

Multiple Taylor Swift projects have reached 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas, but none have been approved. The most likely reason is licensing complications. LEGO needs to negotiate rights to Taylor Swift’s likeness and brand, which may involve high costs or complex agreements with her team.
